The Art of Editorial Photography
Learn how to produce publication-worthy photographs in this one-day hands-on workshop with award-winning photographer Gary Gnidovic. Discover how to take a simple close portrait making effective use of natural light and how to capture the subject’s personality in a narrative or environmental portrait.
You’ll have an opportunity to practice what you’ve learned as you complete a short photo assignment. You may create a simple portrait or narrative portrait, using the principles taught that morning. Or, you may do a photo essay incorporating the five distinct types of images discussed in the documentary photography workshop during the Crisis Publishing Initiative conference.
Several of the photographs will be critiqued in the final session of the workshop.
Participation in this workshop is limited to 15 people
Write for Publication
Refine and strengthen your writing skills in this one-day workshop for both the new and experienced writer led by Dr. Miriam Adeney, Seattle Pacific University professor and author of more than 200 articles and six books.
Through instruction, exercises, and writing lab sessions you’ll discover how to make your writing interesting, organized, biblical, appropriate, researched, and marketable.
Whether you write newspaper or magazine articles, books, study guides, or blog posts, this workshop is for you. In one day you’ll learn how to communicate more clearly, winsomely, and powerfully.
Wherever there are Christian believers, there are kingdom stories vibrating to be written, mature people with God-given wisdom, and a famine for hearing the Word of the Lord in your local context.
Learn how to find and write the stories that speak to unbelievers and empower Christians to apply the whole counsel of God in their lives.
Participation in this workshop is limited to 30 people.
